An ATCL First: VIDEO (and a photo) of the Redwood Mountain Faire, 06.01.13, Felton, Calif.

If I were to ask you to imagine what a jam-band set for a music festival at a state park just outside of Santa Cruz, Calif., might look like, what comes to mind.

Perhaps something like this?

Yup, the Redwood Mountain Faire pretty much met every single one of my expectations, including the fact that it was a totally chill way to spend a late afternoon/early evening—lounging on a blanket, sipping some craft brews, watching the hippies whirl around.

The music in the video is being supplied by Poor Man’s Whiskey, a five-piece bluegrass-meets-southern-rock fusion combo that’s been playing all over Northern California and beyond for at least a decade, including at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, High Sierra Music Festival and other gatherings of groove-minded individuals. If crackerjack noodling is your thing, they can oblige.

Here’s a photo of the band during its set at Redwood Mountain Faire, an annual shindig at Roaring Camp in Felton, Calif.
