For your viewing pleasure, a year’s worth of concert photos taken with a lousy, cheap cell phone
For a long time, I resisted making the move from film to digital photos, but I am now the owner of digital camera. That means, as I start attending more concerts in the Bay Area, I’ll start posting snapshots from the shows on this very blog.
In the meantime, though, I thought I’d share some of the photos from concerts I attended back in Michigan taken using my cell phone.
I do not have a smart phone. In fact, I have what paleowireless researchers in the future will probably call a Stupid Phone®. It has no flash. It barely has a lens. It makes things look about 100 times farther away than the naked eye. It takes halfway decent photos in daylight, but using it inside a dark rock club is an exercise in frustration and luck. Occasionally the lights would flash just right, the singer would hold relatively still, the guy standing next to me wouldn’t bump my arm, and the resulting photo would only be slightly blurry. Yay!
Anyway, this slideshow is a salute to the passing of an era. A stupid, not terribly photogenic era. Look forward to fully decent concert photos posted here in the future.
